a car having an initial velocity of 12 meters per second speed up uniformly to 22 meters per second. This change is made in 4 second. What is the car's acceleration?

If acceleration is constant, then it's the same as the average acceleration over the 4 second interval:

a_(\rm avg)=(\Delta v)/(\Delta t)=(22\,(\rm m)/(\rm s)-12\,(\rm m)/(\rm s))/(4\,\rm s)=2.5\,(\rm m)/(\mathrm s^2)
