A rectangular park has an area of 250 square feet. The length of the park is 7 feet more then twice the width, w of the park. Which equations, in terms of w, model this situation

w is the width, hence length is 2w + 7 ( 7 more than twice the width )

area = length × width = w( 2w + 7 ) = 250

2w² + 7w - 250 = 0 ← in standard form

Area = length * width

width = w

length = 2w+7

A = (2w+7) * w

250 =2w^2+7w

0 = 2w^2 +7w-250
