3:8 is the answer I believe. You add 9 and 15 together, then you use 3 to simplify them both.

3 goes into 9, 3 times
3 goes into 24, 8 times

That is the simplest form

Answer:

\frac38

Explanation:

Calculate total number of students: 9+15 = 24

Ratio=(boys)/(total)=\frac9{24}=\frac38
