f(x)=4x+1,\ g(x)=x^2-5\\\\(f-g)(x)=f(x)-g(x)\\\\\text{Therefore}\\\\(f-g)(x)=(4x+1)-(x^2-5)=4x+1-x^2+5=-x^2+4x+6
