Answer:

8.Russian radicals joined labor unions in the United States.

9.The growing concern about environmental issues in the western United States.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Americanization movement was a reactionary movement to the influx of immigration to the United States during the first half of the twentieth century. The ''new immigrants'' of this era mostly came from Southern and Central Europe. Native-born individuals feared that their jobs would be overrun by immigrants. They also feared that the cultures of immigrants would displace their own culture, and so American ''ideals'' would no longer be important to future generations.

The Americanization movement was made even stronger during World War I when various external threats were protected against by cultural isolationism and an overwhelming pressure for all individuals entering the United States to prove their commitment and allegiance to the United States.

Another motivation behind the formation of the Americanization movement was the First Red Scare, which took place from 1917 to 1919. This was a result of the Bolshevik Revolution. News of the unrest and government change in Russia in 1917 and 1918 caused many Americans to fear that new immigrants would spread communist ideas and undermine the capitalist American society that had been the norm for so long. Alongside the Immigration Act of 1924, also known as the National Origins Act of 1924, the Americanization movement was a way to prevent cultural deviance among immigrants.

Immigrants had very strong feelings about the Americanization movement. They viewed it as a movement that sought to take away their cultural practices and their ethnic and religious identities.
