Explanation:

Let the width be x inches

The length will be 2x + 5 inches

The perimeter is 110 inches

Perimeter is given by (2 × length) + (2 × width)

2(2x + 5) + 2x = 110 inches

4x + 10 + 2x = 110 inches

6x = 100 inches

x (width) = 100/6 = 16
(2)/(3) inches

Length = 2(100/6) + 5 = 38
(1)/(3) inches.
