What is the equation in point-slope form of a line that passes through the points (7, −8) and (−4, 6) ?

y−6=−14/11(x+4)

y+6=−2/3(x−4)

y−6=−2/3(x+4)

y+6=−14/11(x−4)

The slope-point form:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

The formula of a slope:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

We have the points (7, -8) and (-4, 6). Substitute:

m=(6-(-8))/(-4-7)=(14)/(-11)=-(14)/(11)\\\\y-6=-(14)/(11)(x-(-4))\\\\\boxed{y-6=-(14)/(11)(x+4)}
