How do Arthur’s knights first respond to the Green Knights challenge? Why does the Green knight laugh at their response? Judging from Arthur’s reactions, how important is honor in Arthur’s court?

Answer 1

-Pg 711, they were shocked at first when the knight came in

-Shows reader that they were not expecting it.

-"Astonished and still", they're definitely nervous and scared.

-Could possibly be tired of getting challenges.

Answer 2

-He's heard so many things about their wondrous deeds and thinks it's funny that they don't seem to step up when it comes to him

-Antagonizing

Answer 3

-His reaction is saying "he's had enough with the making fun of"

-Chivalry and honor is very important to him

-Green knight made a fool out of Arthur and he would not stand for that

-Stands up and takes challenge because he does not want the green knight putting down his men and his kingdom

Hope this helped! :)
