The shearing process is done all around the year which mainly depends on the requirement of wool and climate. Mainly, the ewes are not shorn during winter if it is in the lambing stage. When the winter is severe, the sheep are shorn with cover combs which leaves greater amount of wool on the animal to protect it. Sometimes, if the young sheep are shorn, it is left in the shed to protect it from chill condition.
