What is the recursive rule for the sequence?

a_n=a_(n−1)+1.4 , where a_1=4.4

Explanation:

Given a sequence as

4.4, 5.8, 7.2, 8.6, 10, …

We find that first term is 4.4

II term = 5.8 = 4.4+1.4

III term = 7.2 = 5.8+1.4

Iv term = 8.6 = 7.2+1.4

V term = 10.0 = 8.6+1.4

i.e. each term is got by adding 1.4 to the previous term.

In other words, this is an arithmetic sequence with I term =4.4 and d = common difference =1.4

I term = a_1 = 4.4

and a_2 = a_1+1.4 and so on.

Hence correct answer is

a_n=a_(n−1)+1.4 , where a_1=4.4
