ANSWER

Find out the weight of the PVC pipe with an outside diameter of 0.82 inches and an inside diameter of 0.75 inches .

To proof

Formula

volume\ of\ the\ cylinder = \pi r^(2)h

r = radius , h = height

As given

36 inch piece of PVC pipe with an outside diameter of 0.82 inches and an inside diameter of 0.75 inches.

outside\ radius = (0.82)/(2)

= 0.41 inches

inside\ radius = (0.75)/(2)

= 0.375 inches

Volume of the PVC pipe = volume of the outside - volume of the inside

put

\pi = 3.14

= \ 3.14*0.41*0.41*36 -\ 3.14*0.375* 0.375*36

thus solving the above

we get

Volume of the PVC pipe = 3.105 inches³ ( approx)

As given

1 inches = 0.063 pounds

weight of a PVC pipe = 3.105 × 0.063 pounds

= 0.196 pounds (approx)

Hence proved
