B) Assuming both brands taste equally good, which is the better buy and why?

Answer:

A)

  • National brand cornflakes is 0.174 = .17/oz
  • Store label cornflakes is 0.514 = .15/oz

B) The larger box is cheaper per ounce.

C) 2.09 – .30 = 1.79 for 12 ounces. So than $1.79/12= .15/oz.

They would both be the same so there would be no better deal.
