Answer: y = 8/p+q+4

Solution

Step 1:

take all the y variables on one side of the equation

so,

py+qy+4y = 8

(NOTE: -4y when shifted towards the LHS of the equation, it coinages it's sign so it goes from negative to positive)

Step 2:

Take y common

y (p+q+4) = 8

Step 3:

Since the questions requires it to be solved in terms of y.

y = 8 / p+q+4
