4(-2)=8/-2(8)-4(8)

-8=-4(8)-32

-8=32-32

-8=0

Hi there!

So we know that:

x = -2

y = 8

And we have this equation to solve : 4x =
(y)/(xy - 4y)

To solve the equation, you need to replace the letters "x" and "y" in the equation with their value :

4 x -2 =
(8)/((-2x8) - (4x8))

Now all you need to do is calculate everything:

4 × -2 = -8

-2 × 8 = -16

4 × 8 = 32

-8 =
(8)/(-16 - 32)

-16 + -32 = -48

-8 =
(8)/(-48)

(8)/(-48)  \left \{ {{divided by 8 = 1} \atop {divided by 8 = -6}} \right. = (1)/(-6)

-8 = -
(1)/(6)

I'm not sure if this would be the simplest form you are looking for..

If there's anything, just let me know! :)
