The Algonquins are indigenous of North America who speak the Algonquin language. Are original natives of southern Quebec, and eastern Ontario in Canada, and some from upstate New York.

Basically their reasons for migration were to obtain more territory, trade with other tribes, wedding alliances; and they also formed alliances and helped Europeans with trade.
