The order of operations, or PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction.

If there are any parenthesis, solve what is in the parenthesis first. For each step in the order of operations, if there are multiple; for example multiple numbers to multiply, you would start with the one most left and then move towards the right.

After parenthesis, solve for any exponents(squared, cubed, or a number to a power).

Then going left to right, multiply and divide any numbers together that need multiplied or divided.
Then add and subtract.
You should then have your answer

If you go from right to left, or left to right, you won't get the right answers. By using order of operations, you will get a more accurate and correct answer.

Hope this helps :)
