Answer:

Length = 19
(2)/(3)m

Width = 8
(1)/(3)m

Explanation:

Let the width be x meters

The length will be 2x + 3 meters

The perimeter is 56m

Perimeter is given by 2(length) + 2(width)

2(2x + 3) + 2x = 56m

4x + 6 + 2x = 56m

6x + 6 = 56m

6x = 56 - 6 = 50m

x = 50/6m

Simplifying gives;

x = 8
(1)/(3)m

Length = 2x + 3 that gives;

2(50/6) + 3 = 50/3 + 3

Working out further gives;

Length = 19
(2)/(3)m
