Let's call it x.


Now, Let's handle the first part of it. 3 more than five times a number. That can be represented by the following


3+5x


Now we handle the second part, "Thirty more than twice the number"

Which can be represented by


30+2x


So, now we set them equal, since it tells us that these expressions are the same. Then we just solve the equation


3+5x=30+2x\\\\5x=27+2x\\\\3x=27\\\\x=9
