During the economic boom of the 1990s, when many American workers enjoyed their first pay raises in a generation, the real value of wages in the restaurant industry continued to fall. The roughly 3.5 million fast food workers are by far the largest group of minimum wage earners in the United States. The only Americans who consistently earn a lower hourly wage are migrant farm workers. Which example best synthesizes the information in the original passage? A. The roughly 3.5 million fast food workers consistently earn a lower hourly wage than migrant farm workers and saw the real value of wages in the restaurant industry continue to fall (Schlosser 6). B. While the economy was booming in the 1990s and many workers were getting raises, the wages of fast food workers continued to fall. Fast food workers are the largest group of minimum-wage earners, migrant farm workers being the only group who earns less (Schlosser 6). C. In the 1990s, fast food workers, whose earnings were only slightly higher than those of migrant farm workers, saw the value of their salaries decline even as other American workers were getting paid more (Schlosser 6). D. While "many American workers enjoyed their first pay raises in a generation," the wages of the "roughly 3.5 million fast food workers" continued to fall. "The only Americans who consistently earn a lower hourly wage are migrant farm workers" (Schlosser 6)
