A.) What is the artist communicating about the octopus in this cartoon?

B.)Judging by this political cartoon, we can safely say that the English Empire was very large. What was the quote used in class that explains how large the English Empire was during this time?

A) The artist is showing, through the cartoon, the imperialist practices, also correctly called colonialists, adopted by England. Such practices fit the second wave of colonization, where the interest was to conquer areas of influence in the world where English products could be consumed and dominate regions that could supply raw materials needed to sustain industries.

The rush of emerging capitalist powers throughout the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries has led to the sharing of the African and Asian continent. England conquered several regions in Africa and Asia, and one of the most notable presence of the English occurred in India and South Africa.

B) It's impossible to know what "used in class" means, once I don't know which class you're referring to. Unfortunately, I can't provide the asked quote because your question is a little vague.
