We are given expression:
4^(-1)

We need to write the expression without negative exponents.

We need to convert it in positive exponents.

We know the rule of negative exponents as following:

a^(-n) = (1)/(a^n)

On applying same rule, the 4 would go in the bottom of 1.

4^(-1) = (1)/(4^1)

We know 4^1 = 4.

Therefore,

(1)/(4^1) = (1)/(4)
