1. -16/-4 = 4

2. for this we have to distribute throughout the parenthesis. This means that the 4 is multiplied by both the x and the 6. and the same for the 2 being multiplied by both the x and the 3. This will simplify to

4x+24+2x+6

Now we have to combine like terms. This gives us the answer

6x+30

3. The degree is the largest exponent in the equation so in the equation

5x^3y +3x^2y^2+x-17 The largest exponent is 3, so that would be the degree

4. For this one we must distribute the x to both the x and 1. Then we must do the same with the 7. Lastly, we must combine like terms.

Lets begin with the x,

x(x+1) =x^2+x

and now 7

7(x+1)=7x+7

Now we have to combine like terms

x^2+x+7x+7 = x^2+8x+7

So the answer is
x^2+8x+7

5. For this one we must solve for c. In order to do this, we must combine like terms and then isolate c.

4c-11=10c-5

First, we must subtract 4c from each side as well and add 5 to each side. This will leave us with
-6=6c

Now we can divide each side by 6, so that c will be alone. And we will be left with
c=-1 as our answer
