dependant = y

An independent variable is exactly what it sounds like. It is a variable that stands alone and isn't changed by the other variables you are trying to measure.

The dependent variable is the one that depends on the value of some other number. If, say, y = x+3, then the value y can have depends on what the value of x is.

b)

slope = (y2-y1) / (x2-x1)

= (3-0) / (1-0) = 3

The linear function formulas are: y = mx + b (slope-intercept form)

point (0,0) given

y = 3x +b

0 = 3 *0 + b

b = 0

y = 3x is the linear function

d)

3 movies ( × = 3)

y = 3x

y = 9
