The pyramids are one of the 7 wonders of the world, but if you are asking about their Importance in the past, the Pyramids were built as tombs, as the ancient Egyptians believed that there is another life after they die, so they built the pyramids & buried all their important things, gold ,food and drink with them in order to use them in the next life. & as great Kings, they wanted their tombs to be extraordinary. I wish that's helpful :)The Pharaoh used this as a form of relief work - they hired the farmers to build the pyramids during the flood season when they had no work on their farms and would otherwise be bereft of subsistence- a win-win arrangement: the Pharaoh got his tomb built and paid for it out of the state granaries, and the farmers got food during the off season. They made sure the pharaoh had a place in the afterlife . The pyramids where a symbol of re-birth into the afterlife they were shaped as they saw a women's womb to look like. Everything inside is what the pharaoh wanted to take with him to the next life..
