TRS and VRW are vertical angles. So they are equal

X+40=3x
Subtract x from both sides
40=2x
Divide both sides by 2

X=20

Because the angles are vertical, we can create an equation and than solve for x.

x + 40 = 3x

We subtract x from both sides to get the variable on one side.

40 = 2x

Next, we can divide both sides by 2 and reverse the equation to get it into proper form.

x = 20

Remember, the opposite angles in a vertical angle are always equal.

Hope this helps!
