An angle measures 10 degrees more than the measure of a supplementary angle. What is the measure of each angle?

Hey there!!

What are supplementary angles?

Supplement angles are which sum up to 180°

... One of the angle is 10° more than it's complement

Let's take the complement angle as 'x'.

... Then, the other angle would be ' x + 10 '

Hence,

... x + x + 10 = 180

Combining like terms:

... 2x + 10 = 180

Subtracting 10 on both sides :

... 2x = 170

Dividing by 2 on both sides :

... x = 170 / 2

... x = 85

The complement angle is 85° and the other angle is 85 + 10 which is 95°

The angles are 85° and 95°

Hope my answer helps!!

x= angle

y= supplement

x+y = 180

x=y+10

y+10 +y = 180 substitute x=y+10 into x+y=180

2y+10=180 subtract 10 from each side

2y = 170

y = 85

x = y+10

x=95
