Hey there!!

Given equation :

...
(6)/(14) =(7)/(x-3)

Cross-multiplication :

... 6 ( x - 3 ) = 14 × 7

... 6x - 18 = 98

... 6x = 98 + 18

... 6x = 116

... x = 116 / 6

... x = 19.3

If the case is,

(6)/(14) = (7)/(x)-3

Adding 3 on both sides :

...
(6)/(14)+3 = (7)/(x)

...
(48)/(14)= (7)/(x)

...
48x = 17*4

...
48x = 68

...
x=(68)/(48)

...
x=(32)/(14)

...
x=(16)/(7)

...
x=2.28

...
x=2.3

Hope my answer helps!!
