Answer:

y= 5

Explanation:

This problem bothers on the the angles in a triangle

Step one

From the attachment the triangle is an isoceles triangle which has two sides equal and two angles equal

∠ ABC and ∠ACB are equal

75= 3x

x=75/3

x=25

∠ACB=3x

∠ACB= 3*25

ACB= 75°

To solve for angle ∠CAB

Let ∠CAB be x

We know that the sum of angle in a triangle is 180°

Hence

∠CAB∠ACB+∠ ABC= 180°

x+75+75=180

x+150=180

x=180-150

x=30°

Hence

∠CAB= 30°

But ∠CAB= 4y+10

To solve for y we have

4y+10=30

4y=30-10

4y=20

y=20/4

y=5

3x = 75 since it is an isosceles triangle

x=25

Angle C = 75 degrees

a Triangle = 180

180 =A+B+C

180 = A +75 +75

180 = A + 150

A = 30

30 = 4y+10 subtract 10 from each side

20 = 4y divide each side by 4

y=5
