x_1, y_1) be two points belonging to a line, then from these two points we can find the equation of the line of the form

y = mx + b

where m is the slope and b is the cut point with the y axis.

the slope of the line is found with the following formula.


m = (y_1-y_0)/(x_1-x_0)

To find b substitute
x_0 and
y_0 in the equation and clear b. (You can also replace
x_1 and
y_1)


y_0 = mx_0 + b\\ b = (y_0-mx_0)

After finding the value of m and b, you already have the necessary parameters to write the equation of the line y = mx + b
