So, the first thing you want to do is to identify the slope (m) and the y-intercept (b), using the formula y=mx+b. The slope is the number before the x, and could be a fraction or whole number. If it is a fraction, the numerator represents the 'rise' (y values) and the denominator represents the 'run' (x values). So, if the slope is 2/1, you move up 2, and move over 1. If it is only a whole number it is that said number over 1. If the slope is 8, you move up 8 and move over 1. If the slope is -3, you move down 3 and move over 1. The y-intercept is the number that comes after the slope, and represents where the line crosses the y-axis. To graph y=mx+b, you need to first graph the y-intercept. In this problem, '2' is the y-intercept, so you would draw a point on 2 on your graph. Then you need to plot the slope. In this problem, the slope was 1/4, so you would move up 1 and move over 4. Keep doing this with multiple points until you have a line. Hope this helps! :)
