y=mx+b is called the slope intercept form since ‘m’ represents the slope of the equation and ‘b’ represents the y intercept.

Answer:

To solve, you must know the names of the parts of the equation of the line.

m = slope

b = intercept

(x, y) is your point

y-intercept means that when x = 0, y = (whatever the number will be)

slope-intercept form means that you are solving for when the slope intercepts the y-axis.
