Answer: A. 2.4 meters per second

Explanation: If the forces acting on an object are balanced, the object will either remain at rest or move at a constant speed in a straight line. Since the initial speed of the puck is 2.4 maters per second and the force of friction is not acting on it, the forces acting on it are balanced. So the puck will continue moving at 2.4 meters per second until acted upon by another force.

2.9 × 1.7 = 4.93

After 1.7 seconds, the puck's speed would be 4.93 meters per second.
