standard form for a linear equation means

- all coefficients must be integers

- only the constant on the right-hand-side

- "x" must not have a negative coefficient

\bf y+7=2(x+5)\implies y+7=2x+10\\\\\\-2x+y=3\implies \boxed{2x-y=-3}
