(And the answer would be no solution)
3−x+2x+1=x−1
3+−x+2x+1=x+−1
(−x+2x)+(3+1)=x−1
x+4=x−1
x+4=x−1
x+4−x=x−1−x
4=−1
4−4=−1−4
0=−5
Answer:

There are no solutions.

3-x+(2x+1)=x-1\\\\3-x+2x+1=x-1\qquad|\text{combine like terms}\\\\(3+1)+(-x+2x)=x-1\\\\4+x=x-1\qquad|\text{subtract x from both sides}\\\\4=-1\qquad FALSE

Answer: NO SOLUTION.
