What is homeostasis? What are its primary components? Give one example of a homeostatic system

Homeostasis is a body's ability to maintain internal conditions stable. It's primary components are the receptor (receives info on change in environment), the control center (processes info), and the effector (responds to control center). An example could be a humans internal temperature where if we are cold we shiver or when we are too hot we sweat.
