x = 12

given

(3x)/(6) = 6 ( multiply both sides by 6 )

3x = 36 ( divide both sides by 3 )

x = 12

3x/6 +1 = 7

Subtract 1 from each side:

3x/6 = 6

Multiply both sides by 6:

3x = 36

Divide both sides by 3:

X = 36 / 3

X = 12
