I NEED HELP NOW OH GEE PLEASE HELP ME 0___0

Two trains leave the same station at the same time, but are headed in opposite directions. One train travels for 3.5 hours and the other train travels for 4.5 hours.

How fast are the trains traveling if they are now 600 mi apart?

how you would get the answer would be you multiply 4.5 X 3.5= 15.75 i hope this helped. <3

75 miles per hour

Explanation:

Assuming the trains are traveling at the same rate

d = rt is the formula we are using

The total distance is 600

train1 is d= r* 3.5 hours

train 2 is d = r * 4.5 hours

Adding the distances together to get the total distance

d total = r* 3.5 hours + r * 4.5 hours

600 = 3.5r + 4.5 r

600 = 8r

Divide each side8

600/8 = 8r/8

75 = r

75 miles per hour
