Which strategy can a person use to cope with suicidal thoughts on his or her own?

A person who is suicidal can try to “ground” their selves meaning they try to stay in the present moment to attempt to calm down by naming colors or anything they can see, as well as what they smell or hear, etc. they would need to identify with as many senses as they could.
They also could try to find a distraction through journaling , or recreational activities.
They can also try to identify the amount of support they have now and create positive self reminders that they are not defined by their illness, that mistakes are the greatest advice and hardships just help emotional growth because problems are temporary

However , it is highly preferred that a suicidal individual discusses their thoughts with a professional or close loved one as soon as possible
