How does using unique word choice and language in literature impact the story?

Well for one, it definitely makes you sound smarter even if you actually aren’t. But really, it can give a story more detail making it easier for the reader to imaging what is going on in their heads clearly.

I'd have to know what story the question was asking about. You could talk about how the complex word choice gave a sophisticated edge to the story in question, or you could talk about how the simple language choice really delivered the point that the protagonist is a young child. Think about it, and make sure your answer actually pertains to the story.
