2/3x-7=11 what is the answer please help explain how i do this equation

Well problems like this aren't too difficult but I understand why it's confusing.

2/3x - 7 = 11

First you would add 7 to 11 to get rid of the variable on the left side and isolate x.

7 + 11 = 18

The equation then turns into 2/3x = 18.

The simplest way I can think of to solve this is to divide 2 by 3 to get a decimal. .66x = 18

Next you would divide 18 by .66 to completely isolate x.

18 / .66 = 27.27

Your answer would be x = 27.27
