Colonists arrived to hostilities based on previous experiences with the Spaniards. Native Americans soon began to offer food and hospitality to the newcomers. Instead of growing food to sustain themselves, colonists were searching for instant wealth and treasures. The Natives grew tired of the colonists depending on them. By early 1600ś Natives realized the colonists planned to stay. The colonists did not return the favor and help the Natives. They began taking things by force when trade or hospitality ran dry.
