What is the least common multiple of 8, 2, 3a, 6b, and 4ab?

Explanation:

The multiple of 8, 2, 4ab, 3a, and 6b would be all the variables multiplied together right?

Then you see that:

8 can be divided by both 2 and 4 (2 x 2 x 2)

2 is 2 x 1

4ab can be 2 x 2ab

3a is the same as 3 x a

and

6b can be 2 x 3b

Now if you find the lowest common multiples (LCM's) of each variable with another you'll get your answer.

LCM of 8, 2 and 4ab is 2 times 2 times 1 times 2ab which equals 8ab

LCM of 3a and 6b is 3a times 2 times b which equals 6ab

and the

LCM of 8ab and 6ab is 2 times 2ab times 4 times 3 which equals 24ab.
