What process powers the rock cycle?

There are many different answers but the main process is probably heat, heat will melt rock to make it igneous when it cools. Heat will cause chemical and physical changes to change rock into metamorphic rock. Heat will drive the forces that break down rock at the surface. Heat will also cause the water cycle to precipitate water causing erosion and weathering. Heat will cause a freeze thaw cycle that breaks rock up.This creates sediment that can be transported by wind or water these depend on heat. Then the sediments will become sedimentary rock. Hope this helps! :)
