2. Let s be the number of laps she swims. If each lap she swims takes her 2 minutes, then s laps take her 2s minutes.

3. In total she will exercise 4r+2s minutes. You know that Amy wants to exercise for at least 40 minutes today, therefore,

4r+2s≥40.
