Is there a viable solution when time is 30 minutes? No, because by then the tub will be empty.

Hope this Helps!!

Answer:

A. w = 50 - 2.5t

B. For t = 30 minutes there is no viable solution.

Explanation:

A. A tub is filled with the amount of water = 50 quarts

Rate at which the tub is getting emptied = 2.5 quarts per minute

Let the time taken to empty the tub = t minutes

Then amount of water leaked from the tub in t minutes = 2.5t

If w quarts is the amount of water left in t minutes then equation will be

w = 50 - 2.5t

B. To calculate the time to get the tub emptied w = 0

then 50 - 2.5t = 0

2.5t = 50

t =
(50)/(2.5)

t = 20 minutes

Therefore, for time t = 30 minutes there is no viable solution because the tub will be emptied in 20 minutes.
