Monica is shopping for candy for her wedding and needs lollipops and gummy bears for a display she is making for the reception. Lollipops are $0.99 per pound and gummy bears are $0.88 per pound. She knows she wants to spend exactly $15 on candy. If p represents pounds of lollipops and g represents pounds of gummy bears, which equation represents this situation?

A. 0.99g + 0.88p = 15
B. 1.87c = 15
C. 0.99p + 0.88g = 15

Ignore that first answer, the answer is C

0.99p+0.88g=15

p is the variable for pound of lollipop, and each pound costs 0.99, the same thing for gummy bears, variable g and cost per pound being 0.88

The highest she wants to pay is 15, so the equation equals 15
