To answer this question, you would divide the number of rock CDs by the total number of CDs or in other words "part over whole". Then you multiply this number by 100 to make it into a percent instead of a decimal.

Total Number of Rock CDs = 6

Total Number of CDs = 6+12+8+4+10 = 40

6/40 = .15
.15 × 100 = 15 %

This means that the correct answer is indeed A!

You can see that there are 6 rock CDs, over a total of


6+10+4+8+12 = 40

So, the ratio of rock CDs over the total number of CDs is


(6)/(40) = 0.15

Which is 15%.
