A frame is 9in wide and 6 in tall. If it reduces to a width of 3 in then how tall will it be?

If it reduces to a width of 3 in

Find out the how tall will it be .

To proof

As given in the question

A frame is 9in wide and 6 in tall.

reduces to a width of 3 in

now as shown in the table given below

This table shows that the width of a frame is directly proportional to the height (tall) of the frame.

let us assume that the height of the frame after reduces width to 3in be = x

than the equation becomes


(original\ width)/(original\ height) = (reduces\ width )/(reduces\ height)

put the all the value

we get


(9)/(6) = (3)/(x)

solve the above


x = (6*3)/(9)

x = 2in

therefore 2in tall will be the frame .

Hence proved
