The qualifications for a senator in the United States include;
1. He/She must be thirty years and above of age.
2. He/She should be a citizen of United States for last nine years.
3. He/She must be an inhabitant from the time he is elected.
4. He/She should live in the state which he represents.
United States senate is termed as the upper chamber for the congress of United States together with the representative in the United States constitution, article one establishes the powers and composition of the senate.
In the senate, there is a unique power which is to consent and advice whereby it is included in the confirmation of secretary cabinets and then approval of the treaties, federal judges, flag officers and then supreme court justices.
