Answer: w(-3)= -349 and m(5)= 29

Explanation:

substitute the x with the numbers given then work out the problem as normal. the other answer here mistook the - for a + and so the answer was 31, keep a look out for easy mistakes like that in your own work as well!!

Answers: -349, 31

Explanation:

9) find w(-3) for 11x³ - 6x² (+0x) + 2

-3 | 11 -6 0 2

| ↓ -33 117 -351

11 -39 117 -349

*******************************************

10) find m(5) for m(x) = x² + x + 1

m(5) = (5)² + (5) + 1

= 25 + 5 + 1

= 31
